As we were saying our goodbyes in Michigan, my six year old, Anna, looked up at two of her much-older cousins, Alecia and Hannah, and said, "I love you like a mother cow loves her babies."
Let your daughter know I watch that kind of love everyday in the pasture beside my house, and it's deep and real. Also, it's a little stinky with the manure and all, but you don't have to tell her that part.
I live across the river from those cows in Ontario...sadly no longer in the rural parts of it but this is a nice reminder of the love we too used to share.

ReplyDeleteNow THAT'S love, eh, Scott?
ReplyDeleteI love what True Vyne said.
Love is like that -- and there is a lot of crap to deal with -- but it's all worth it to get a little taste of Heaven here on this stinky Earth.
