Habakkuk 3.17-19

Though the fig tree does not bud
and there are no grapes on the vines,
though the olive crop fails
and the fields produce no food,
though there are no sheep in the pen
and no cattle in the stalls,
yet I will rejoice in the LORD,
I will be joyful in God my Savior.

The Sovereign LORD is my strength;
he makes my feet like the feet of a deer,
he enables me to go on the heights.

I could really use some deer feet today!
Fill my cup, Lord!

I have stood on this verse. I am glad it is keeping you up too.

It's amazing how the LORD calls you to HIM and then reminds you ever of HIS presence with random things like this...

I love the desperate, faithful, insane love of the likes of Habakkuk and Job. "Though you slay me . . ." It's so completely dependent, so utterly fixed on its Creator. Crazy, is what it is. I wish I were so crazy. Maybe I am.

Scott...my friend wrote a worship song based on those verses. It's beautiful. I'll try and send it to you.
