A Little Bit of Negativity - Just for You

We got back from the beach today. I'm exhausted, for many reasons. And I've got to let you know that no one took anything from our house. There was, however, a new mailbox in our yard - the house across the street decided they needed one and so planted it there. I'm not that happy about it at the moment, to be honest. But I'm sure I'll change my mind when I'm mowing around it tomorrow.

That's irksome...do they have the right to do that? Methinks things sometimes go afoul below the Mason Dixon line. I'd be steaming mad too!

From what we understand, they do have the right, since the mail carrier only goes down one side of the street. We're still checking into it though. Which means, since we have two lots, that a few more mailboxes from across the road could pop up onto our property as well - which makes absolutely no sense.

Scott,
It's still common courtesy to talk to you about it BEFORE doing it. Then you could negotiate weed eating rights...
When I lived in the city, my neighbor George drove me nuts. He insisted if I was to mow between our driveways, I should mow the whole thing even though half of the grass belonged to him. He said it made it look uneven if I didn't. I smiled and answered, "Guess you'll have to break out the lawnmower and fix it yourself." My husband always mowed George's side too.
