I love the liturgical calendar within Catholicism. Every week, season, and year I am pressed up against the reality of Christ. His heart beats in my ear; I learn its rhythm. I rest my head upon his breast.
My family shares the same feeling. I can't remember who it was who said it, but he/she said that they no longer dread the long winter months, because they are fully engaged in the liturgical calendar.
Me on the other hand...even if I became Catholic, I think I'd still hate the snow.
Ironically, I miss the snow terribly. Last year, I don't even think we had a drop of it. Granted, the shorter winter season is sweet and the cloudless blue skies and 60-degree days ain't half bad either. But I'd still like a good month of the white stuff.
